I took a Shakespeare on Screen course at uni for the same reason - we got to watch a different film adaptation every week, and there wasn't any reading (which, as I was doing pure English was a relief, because the term before, I'd been attempting to read 8 novels a week).

Unfortunately, it did mean that on Valentine's Day, I got to watch half a dozen different versions of Desdemona's death in Othello - think my lecturer had been dumped, or something!
