I picked studying the language of television comedy, just an excuse to watch all my favourite things repeatedly. I tell myself it's all useful research, but clearly that's just a front.
Heh. Yeah, I took a screenwriting class in college almost purely based on the course description being that lectures consisted of watching a movie a week. Though it did turn out to be a genre of writing I was surprisingly good at, so it wasn't a total blow-off...
