Just to quickly say we - as in [livejournal.com profile] mrstater and I - have updated Up All Night, Chapter Two: Much Fondue About Nothing. I've done it as per the link, she's done it on her LJ on that very nice brown screen of hers.

Everyone seems to have started their Jumble Fic while I've been out shopping... This is going to be like college all over again, where I'll be last in with the homework.

Yes, my screen that is the color of David Tennant's Doctor suit. :)

I'll be in good company, then, since I've wasted all of today noodling around Photoshop and doing stuff like this ^^. I think I might actually be addicted to making icons.

Icons are fun, but I really want to make a mood theme. I just can't decide what kind of mood theme to do...

My two main obsessions are Star Wars and Harry Potter. I don't really want to make a random combination of those two but if I make a theme of one of them, I'll feel guilty for ignoring the other (yes, I'm weird). Not that I have time to work on a mood theme right now anyway.

I'm working on a David Tennant mood theme - although I am being slightly held back by the fact that I can't find many pictures where he looks happy, but not like a manic lunatic.

I wouldn't necessarily knock maniacal lunacy.

I think I could do with something that says 'cheerful' more than 'homicidal', though. Although obviously a homicidal emoty has its place....

I'm sure the Marauders would be late with theirs as well... We'll just have to solemnly swear we were up to no good. ;)

I like that icon, but I really liked your Fred and Ginger one. My best friend absolutely idolises him and has every film he made.

I've made a whole load of Fred and Ginger ones today. I think this one's my favourite, although it's hard to pick. I think I've still got about 20 pictures to go, to. Like they say, a little Photoshop knowledge is a dangerous thing!

That one's brilliant, although I like the one of him and Cyd (I hope, otherwise my mate will lynch me) too. So are you a fan of musicals, or Fred and Ginger, or have I just not read your user info again?

Pleased with your prompts? A feather quill at the in-laws, eh?! ;)

I'm quite into classic films (I think everyone looks better in black and white), musical or otherwise but there's something very appealling about Fred Astaire. I'm quite a big Doris Day fan, too, which makes what I've done to her here a bit inexcusable.

A feather quill at the in-laws, eh?!

I'd prepared myself for the niffler angst, and then I get thrown romantic comedy starring the in-laws. Not sure how the feather's going to come into it....

How about you? Looking forward to the comedy potential of the Apothecary?

I take it this was before she was a virgin? LOL "Love Me Or Leave Me" the film she made with James Cagney, is one of my all-time favourites.

The last thing I was expecting was to be handed a chair, the Apothecary and a day of satisfaction. Wish I'd saved the constipated Hippogriff so they'd at least have an un-predictable reason for going there... ;)

Do they do Senakot in hippogriff strength?

I love 'Love Me or Leave Me'. I think she made some great films - 'Pillowtalk', 'Move Over Darling' and 'Calamity Jane' never fail to amuse me. I think she gets rather over-looked when people talk about the great actresses of yesteryear.

I perhaps shouldn't admit to this, but the feather quill and the in-laws were both my suggestions.

Well it tickles my fancy... ;)

What have you got and are you pleased?

Shrivelfig, Forbidden Forest, Day of Confusion, and Mystery/Suspense.

A plot bunny ran into me while I was trying to cook lunch today. I jotted down a few notes, and burned my lunch, so I now have hope for the fic though the meal was hopeless. I still have a few plot points I have to work through before I get to the real writing, so I'm not certain it's all going to come together. I guess we shall see.

A week suddenly seems like no time at all, doesn't it? I suppose at least confusion and mystery go together?

I'm quite pleased with my prompts, actually (so thanks!), and romantic comedy is much more my thing than mystery or action. I was just expecting to get one of the really tricky ones because I normally have really bad luck with these things.

I'm no good with angst/drama. I don't like touchy-feely emotional mumbo-jumbo in general, so angst or drama and I just don't mix well. I've done some angsty drabbles and that is about it. I'm OK with anything else. I'm already mentally preparing myself for the drama or angst that I'm sure will come my way in round two.

A week suddenly seems like no time at all, doesn't it?

It really wouldn't be that bad if I didn't have to research and write a 10 page paper by Wed. and a 6 pg. paper by next Thursday.

A week-and-a-half for three different projects of 1,000 to 2,500 word minimums is worrying.

I thought I would be all right, and then a cursory glance at my diary told me that I'm supposed to be out every night this week, except Tuesday, when I planned to curl up with the tub of Haagan Dazs I bought last night when I was drunk and watch CSI. All things considered, I probably should have tried to get something written today instead of Googling images of Fred Astaire....

Seriously, why do we do things like this to ourselves? I don't consider myself masochistic but I suspect there must be a subconscious tendency to explain my frequent schedule predicaments.

I've just had to look a Shrivelfig up on the Lexicon so that shows I need to pay more attention in class for a start. It's an interesting quartet, and it must be a good plot bunny if it took precedence over being hungry!

I'm hoping my own will arrive tomorrow, or there's going to be trouble.

I remembered Harry having to prep a shrivelfig for Malfoy in Potions but had to look it up to find out what potion they were making and see if it was referenced anyplace else. At least we have the Lexicon to save us. It's about as useful as Hermione.

After jotting down the notes, I went to the store, bought some fresh apples and ate a couple of them with a little bit of caramel sauce. Probably better than what I was cooking anyway.

I find the best plot bunnies come to me when I'm in class not listening to the prof., taking a shower, or cooking. I'm not sure what about those activities attract the bunnies other than I'm probably just letting my mind wander. I really should know better than to let my brain out on its own, but somehow I still do it.

I'll be joining you in the back of the class, trying to hide from the teacher the fact that we're frantically writing the last paragraphs while everyone else is passing their papers up to the front. Awesome job on chapter 2, BTW - I'll leave proper feedback soon, but I've given up trying to make my brain work properly this afternoon.

Welcome to the Marauders! At worst, if we're late with the homework, we might get a detention with Professsor Lupin... ;)

That one was [livejournal.com profile] mrstater's baby so thank you on her behalf. I'm supposed to be sorting out 3 while trying to do the Jumble Fic - no chance!

And I really enjoyed the latest update to 'Contact.' :)

Detention, hmmm? ;)
I would have loved to have been a Marauder, sigh...

Thanks! Next chapter of Contact is almost done, but it also may have to wait until after this challenge is over to get polished and posted. I have a hard enough time getting one fic done, much less the three I have on my plate right now.
