Am so cranky/crotchety I could invent a whole new word for it. Like crotcrank. Actually I rather like that and I have to snap out of this soon because I'm normally the one who snaps other people out of it. Hubby is currently looking at me in a bewildered fashion and offering me the TV remote out of fear.

Anyway I've done the usual cheer-me-up things - wasted ages choosing a new David Tennant icon and then gone for one of the first ones I saw - and sighed over my [livejournal.com profile] metamorfic_moon story, which has given me no trouble whatsoever, apart from the fact that it's weird, I'm not in a romantic mood (which is a snag as it's my genre) and I've written 2000 words without a prompt in sight. It also shows every sign of wanting to be an epic, and I really didn't want it to be. So that's crotcranked me off as well.

Right, whinge over. If anyone hasn't seen the R/T picture [livejournal.com profile] drumher did, to illustrate one of [livejournal.com profile] mrstater's fics, then it's great and I just love the colours, expressions, hair and both sets of feet. The only thing I can draw is horses and they have yet to feature in any R/T story I've done. Now there's an idea... ;)

Hope you're feeling less crotcrank today. Have you ever tried Berroca to get you over the post-toilet hugging urgh-ness?

At least you've written something for the jumble. I'm currently languishing around the 250 word mark, owing to my boss popping in yesterday for a lengthy (and mostly unnecessary) meeting, and then my neighbour just popping in to say hello. Which was very sociable and nice of her, but not great for fic writing.

I'm okay, thank you; stopped the pathetic whining anyway and breakfast seems to have agreed with me. Berroca and I have a close and intimate relationship from time to time, though I've never used it as the great hangover pick-me-up, which a couple of friends swear it is. But it does help, as does getting past the three days of joy!

Don't worry about the jumble - have read through the crap (no pun intended) I wrote yesterday and been slicing and dicing this morning. There's also something seriously wrong with my plot as I have a beginning, an idea of the end, and no idea how to reach it. On the plus side, after all those icons, I'm feeling a touch more romantic. ;)

Although I do keep Berroca on stand-by for medicinal purposes, it is a great hangover cure. Second only to Salt and Vinegar crisps, in my book ;).

I quite often start with an ending and a beginning and have no idea how to get between the two. Sometimes I think I really should think these thing all the way through first, rather than just assuming inspiration will strike when I'm half-way, because it never, ever does....
